The name Badger Ridge comes from the family farm. It has a small wooded ridge-line that my grandfather was always ridding of badgers. Though there were only a few instances of them in my childhood, I do recall the determination my grandfather had in pursuing such feisty creatures. I also helped him rid the ridge of what turned out to be a skunk, and got my first (and only) tomato bath. My grandfather has passed, and my aunts who now run the farm have their milk checks made out to "Badger Ridge Farms".
As a child, my family lived an hour away, but frequently visited the farm. Helping with the chores, and having fun were the main endeavors. When I came of age I got to add hunting to the list. The farm is still a great place to hunt. And as for chores, I always try to pitch in and help my aunts when I'm up there. Pheasants Forever took notice of the area and have hunts in the vicinity, they usually pay the neighboring farm to leave some soybeans up. I miss walking the farm with my boyhood Labrador and my Dad. When I do make it back (to deer hunt mostly) my brother and I fight for the tree you can climb and survey most of the back 40 and get great shots at the corn and soybean fed white tails.

You might ask, "Why are there airplanes on a gun and shooting equipment site?" I left home at 18 and joined the Navy, became a pilot, and eventually ended up flying in the Coast Guard. So Badger Ridge for over 20 years has been a memory and a place to visit when I could take the uniform off, hunt, and visit family.
Before my time in the military came to its end, I asked myself what it is I'd like to do next. Before I went to flight school, I used to spend a lot of time at the range. I was on multiple shooting teams as a teenager and continued to compete while at the Naval Academy. As I progressed as a shooter I learned to appreciate affordable gear that worked. Now that the time of flying has passed, my first love... 'everything firearms' is blooming.
My passion is to provide solid products that improve the customer's experience; so I launched Badger Ridge Industries. It's a few simple solid products that, Lord willing, will grow.
